With prayer and love: new icons of St Benedict and St Augustine arrive

Sacred works for St Augustine's Abbey, Chilworth
On the Feast Day of St Augustine, 27 May 2025, St Augustine’s Abbey, Chilworth received two beautiful hand painted icons of St Benedict and St Augustine of Canterbury. These sacred works of art were commissioned last year and have been many months in the making.
The icons were created by Mrs Jodie Ripley, a talented iconographer and parishioner of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Haslemere. Her dedication and craftsmanship are evident in the detail and reverence captured in each piece. We are deeply grateful to Jodie for her work, which will now serve as a source of inspiration and devotion for all who visit the Abbey.
We are very grateful to the Surrey Churches Preservation Trust for the organ repair grant it gave us in 2025.
