"Be still and know that I am God" (Psalm 46:10)

In a world that never stops, where noise overwhelms and distractions abound, there exists a sanctuary of peace. At St Augustine’s Abbey, a Roman Catholic Benedictine monastery near Guildford, the rarest gift awaits you: profound silence. Here, within the embrace of stillness, the voice of God becomes clear.

Discover the Power of Silence

A Historic Place of Prayer
For well over a century, the Abbey Church has been alive with daily prayer, a spiritual cornerstone since 1892. Described by the BBC as a “prayer powerhouse,” it was born of Mary Anne Alliot’s deep devotion and remains a beacon of faith, peace, and grace.
