Saint Benedict - painted wooden cross with golden highlights. Measures approximately 23 cm, nine inches). The Saint Benedict medal is centred behind the head of Christ, with icons of St Benedict and the Virgin and Child to the right and left. At the foot is the raven which snatched a poisoned loaf out of St Benedict's hand, when his monks tried to kill him, and the chalice they filled with poisoned wine, which cracked when he tried to drink it.
