The Good Shepherd wooden cross icon is inspired by the Good Shepherd 'Davidovsky' Icon.


It reveals Christ carrying on his sacred shoulders a straylamb back to his flock. He is robed in red, symbolising his humanity, and blue for his divinity. His hands are pierced, reflecting the price of his life, which he laid down for the rescued lamb. His thick hair denotes his Everlasting youth. His neck is similarly thick, through his breathing out the Spirit to give the gift of faith to us. Note the Divine Holy Spirit  above the head of Christ flanked on either side with images of Christ washing his disciples' feet and the Divine Trinity, each flanked by angels.


On the cross beams are images of the Last Supper and Pentecost, reminding us of the Eucharist which feeds us with Christ and the Holy Spirit which empowers us to let Christ carry us through life.


The Icon measures 15cm by 15cm.
