Product Details

The icon shows Jesus with Mary, His mother and Joseph, his foster father. Jesus raises his hand in blessing towards Joseph, who brings forward an offering of two turtle doves, to comply with the Jewish law, for purification after child birth. Leviticus 15:29 and Luke 2:22. Notice the scroll containing the law of the Lord behind Mary. Notice the floor cracked under Jesus feet and the skull, representing death and the Underworld, conquered by Christ, by offering His life to God the Father. Notice the carpenter's tools on Jesus right which He will use, obeying Joseph as his foster father. Luke 2:51, Philippians 2:8
