Product Details

This cross is inspired by the Florentine painter, Cimabue (1240-1302). It is similar to his Crucifix hanging in the Basilica of San Domenico at Arezzo, Italy. The sorrow shown by Our Lady and St John on either arm of the cross gives a clue to the aim of the artist: to portray Christ's agony; appealing to the heart to share their sorrow, and so understand more deeply what Christ has done to save humanity. Measures 18cm by 12cm, in wood.
